The Mailing List
An electronic mailing list works the same as their traditional versions. The only difference is that it’s faster and more convenient to do it online than snail mail. With the mailing list, you basically have a list of e-mail addresses of people who subscribe to a mailing distribution about a particular topic such as job hunting, a favorite band, a hobby, etc. These e-mail addresses are put under one e-mail address so that if you need to send an e-mail (regarding an announcement, replies, questions etc.) all you have to do is type that one particular e-mail address. Of course, since this is a community of sorts, there are rules that subscribers need to follow and there is also an administrator who keeps tabs on the posts.
