Online storage company Drop.io, has a new yet simple feature for its users, allowing them to use Twitter to post updates every time they add or remove files from one of their storage folders. Drop.io system is based on folders or what they call “drops”, so after plugging in your Twitter, log-in to any of your drops and it will alert you the changes every time. It is quite a useful tool altogether. You can assign it to a specific folder and still keep a little privacy not exposing everything that you are putting or taking out. The feature works with any file type which the Drop.io supports, including messages left by phone using it’s free voice recording tool. Users who would prefer not to use Twitter to broadcast can also subscribe to alerts via SMS.You can plug in any numbers you’d like to alert and it will send out a link every time one is added. There’s an RSS feed per drop as well.
