iGoogle, which is Google’s personalized home page has a new update where widgets on the page can now be viewed in the newest canvass view. It simply enlarges the widget to the full iGoogle window. Sixteen new and updated widgets that are promoted by Google currently support the said feature. Currently, there are around 40,000 widgets available in iGoogle. It has not stopped on displaying standard small widgets. Whats new also is the fact that the larger views will not be restricted of ways to earn from them through monetization schemes. Developers can certainly do whatever they see fit for the pages. But in the smaller view, Google does not allow advertising and other direct profit generating schemes. iGoogle’s widgets were written in the Open Social platform. So there must not be much of a problem running this on the portal page.
